What is the transparency of wrought iron glass

Sources:www.cnweier.net | PublishDate:2025.03.03

The transparency of wrought iron glass depends on various factors, including the material of the glass itself, the combination of wrought iron and glass, etc. The following is a specific analysis:
1. The influence of glass material
Ordinary flat glass: If wrought iron glass is made of ordinary flat glass, its transparency is usually good, allowing a large amount of light to pass through. The visible light transmittance is generally around 80% -90%, providing a clear view. Indoor and outdoor light can penetrate each other well, making the space appear bright and transparent.
Frosted glass: When using frosted glass in combination with wrought iron, due to the frosted treatment on the glass surface, light will scatter when passing through, and the transparency will be reduced. Its transparency is generally around 50% -70%. Although it can ensure a certain amount of light entering, it will blur the line of sight and can be used in places with certain privacy requirements.
Colored glass: Colored glass is made by adding metal oxides and other pigments to glass raw materials. Different colors of colored glass have different absorption and reflection of light, which will affect the transparency to a certain extent. Generally speaking, colored glass with lighter colors has relatively better transparency, with a transparency rate of 60% -80%; Dark colored glass, such as deep blue, deep purple, etc., may have a light transmittance of 30% -50%.
2. The influence of the combination of wrought iron and glass
Glass proportion: If the area of glass in the wrought iron frame is relatively large, the overall transparency will be better, and a large amount of light can enter the room or penetrate to the other side through the glass area. On the contrary, if there are too many iron parts and the glass area is small, the iron will block more light, and the transparency will be significantly affected.
Iron patterns and structures: The patterns and structures of iron also affect transparency. If wrought iron adopts simple and sparse line patterns, it will block less light and have relatively good transparency. Complex and dense iron patterns or structures will have more metal parts blocking light, reducing transparency and potentially creating various lighting effects indoors.
3. Other influencing factors
Thickness of glass: In general, the thicker the glass, the more significant the attenuation of light propagation in the glass, and the slightly reduced transparency, but this effect is relatively small. In practical applications, the influence of glass with ordinary thickness (such as 5mm -10mm) on transparency is usually not significant.
Surface cleanliness: The cleanliness of the glass surface can also affect its transparency. If there is dust, stains, water stains, etc. on the surface of the glass, it will scatter and reflect light, reduce the transmittance, and make the light dim and blurry when passing through.
